Description Rural Houses at Meluerda (Asturias)

Ribadesella, the borough where Carmen 6 country house is located, is well known for the attractions that it offers visitors. Tito Bustillo caves, canoeing down the river Sella, cliffs spattered with dinosaur footprints.

1 of its many attractions and possibly less visited than others, is the "ruta de los molinos" (The watermills hiking route). They are all located on the shore of a small brook that flows into the river Sella, and this is where they get the water that moves their millstones, part of the hiking route of the town of Cuevas. The hiking route is not very long and rises through indigenous forests, the mills wait for us in silence, most of them only ruins, although we can see a few that still work and we can understand the importance that corn used to have in the area due to the number of mills in such a small area.

From Carmen 6 country house you can move around the area and find many other attractions that may escape us at first sight, like that of the watermills.

Situation

Atractivos del entorno:
The location of this house allows to know very well the oriental region of Asturias in few minutes of car and excursions of half a day. The northern entrances to Picos de Europa (Covadonga and Arenas de Cabrales) are less than 30 minutes from the house. Also being in Covadonga can visit the lakes of Covadonga going up a winding road and narrow for 11 km. although the reward of the visual spectacle well deserves it.
In full day excursions there are many more possibilities, Beaches of San Vicente de la Barquera, Cuevas del Soplao, Potes and Fuente Dé, Santailla del Mar, Comillas and even Santander (in Cantabria), and The Jurassic Museum in Colunga, Gijón and Oviedo, Llanes, Gulpiyuri Beach in Naves, village of Cuevas in Ribadesella, Mirador del Fito (in Asturias). And hurrying the day much, Las Catedrales Beach in the east of Lugo or Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao.
